INSURANCE & BANKING – GLOBAL TRENDS, LOCAL CHALLENGES

Profit Software Ltd, Compre Group, and Oy Lars Krogius Ab are organizing a high level seminar for the insurance and banking sector on 8 November, 2007 in Helsinki. The subject will be addressed by the following honoured speakers.

Lord Levene of Portsoken, Chairman of Lloyd’s
The Lloyd’s insurance community has always been the most international of operators and the best known brand in the insurance sector. Lloyd’s, a vanguard of the industry with its entrepreneurial attitude and innovative approach towards risk, is today a modern forward-looking global organisation. Lord Peter Levene was elected as Chairman of Lloyd’s in 2002. Earlier in his career he has held a number of top posts in the private and public sectors. It will be most interesting to hear from Lord Levene how the future is seen from within Lloyd’s – there is no lack of perspective backing his views!

Mr Johnny Åkerholm, President & CEO, Nordic Investment Bank (NIB)
NIB is owned by the five Nordic and the three Baltic states. It offers long-term loans and guarantees for the private and public sectors. Mr Åkerholm is well-equipped to analyse future challenges - local and global - within the banking sector. His earlier roles, including Secretary General of the EBRD in London, President of the Economic and Financial Committee of the EU, President of the Nordic-Baltic Monetary and Financial Committee and senior positions in the Ministry of Finance and the Bank of Finland add further substance to his views.

Minister Pertti Salolainen, Member of Parliament
The seminar will be opened by Mr Salolainen whose long and successful career has furnished him with a wide perspective on international issues. Mr Salolainen’s former roles include leader of the Finnish Conservative Party, Deputy Prime Minister of Finland, Minister for Foreign Trade in which position he led the negotiation team for Finland’s accession to the European Union, and Finland’s Ambassador to London.
